After receiving so many messages, requesting that I suggest you all some nice fine dining Indian restaurants in Qatar to celebrate Diwali with friends and family, I decided to finally make a list and post my personal experience with these places.
Though I have not been to all the Indian restaurants in Qatar, I am going to suggest the places that I HAVE been to and those I liked the ambience, food and services of as Iam someone who looks for the details.
So, I have shortlisted my top favorite restaurants where I couldn’t find even a single reason to consider the place unsatisfactory.
Just know that I have no idea if these restaurants have any specials for Diwali, so please call and confirm with them.
Iksha 360 lounge
The perfect place for a luxurious experience.
The view of this place is very impressive as the whole of West bay can be seen from this place. The food quality is amazing and there is also a good amount of vegetarian options. The staff is very kind and has amazing hospitality. They will surely leave you impressed and thinking ‘This the best place when it comes to customer service in Qatar. My daughter loves this place quite a lot and this is her favorite place in this list.
I visited their restaurant to celebrate my friend’s Anniversary celebration and I had such an amazing experience that since then, it’s one of my top favorite places to suggest people when they ask me to suggest a place for celebrating special occasions. Though when I visited this restaurant, it was known as INDIGO, but recently they have changed the name to Iksha 360 lounge. According to my experience, the food was appetizing and I enjoyed it a lot as it was delicious and the presentation was also on point.
Iksha 360 lounge is the perfect to go fine dining in Qatar, especially when it’s a special occasion where you don’t want to take the slightest risk of not impressing your guests, friends or family.
This place is one of the best places where you can enjoy delicious Indian food along with a breathtaking view and with top-notch customer service.
Saffron lounge
This is, according to me, the place that serves one of the best Indian food in Doha. The service is great, and they take care of all the details. It is located on Katara Beach. Its very well-designed place, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and I believe the food and the customer service go hand in hand when it comes to visiting a restaurant to celebrate special occasions.
They have dishes from all over India and the food is superb- having the most tender lamb chops, an incredibly aromatic Murgh Dum Biryani
and very delicious coconut chicken curry. I recommend the lentil soup and the Kataifi Prawns. The breads were delicious and the portions were also plentiful.
The place has Indian style decor, great food presentation, along with delicious food. I liked the lentil soup presentation in a small espresso cup. The menu is quite limited, however the taste of every dish is genuinely authentic Indian. They also serve samosa as a starter. The staff is very hospitable and they really understand the correct way to treat customers. A guarantee of this restaurant is that you’ll leave a little more Indian than when you came in.
ASHA'S
This place is really good. I have visited this restaurant occasionally with my family. We always had a very warm welcome and the service was great every time we came. Some suggestions I’d give for the menu are;
For starters go for the summer salad or prawns. Both are delectable. For the main menu, try the pressure cooker mutton curry, or caribbean curry. Both were excellent and the presentation of the pressure cooker curry was novel, as it really was brought to the table in a small pressure cooker. It was.. different. A nice touch.
As for drinks, try Truly Berry or Delhi Devil. Both were satisfactory and very good. While our order was being prepared, we finished the whole basket of starters. Our meals were then brought to us and we enjoyed every bit of it. I had lamb and rice while my husband had naan and chicken tika masala. We both enjoyed our meal. The reception was great, and our waiter served us well. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to enjoy good food with amazing service.
Qalamkari
One of the most beautiful Indian restaurants in Qatar with a breathtaking view. This gorgeous new Indian restaurant is located on the 25th floor of the hotel Banyan Tree and the view is wow! The staff welcomed us and offered us one of the best tables from where we could see the entire corniche.
The chicken biryani, samosa chat, Kerala style chicken served there is unlike any other you will find in Qatar.. Especially the samosa chaat.
They have trained and professional staff who will impress you in no time. They have good product knowledge and a positive attitude. They also made sure our experience was worthwhile and kept checking on us to see if we needed anything. That was very sweet and thoughtful of them as this kind of thing is not really very practiced in Indian restaurants in Qatar.
My family and I will definitely go there more now.
Jamavar
It’s a great fine dining Indian restaurant. From the door, you’re welcomed by the staff with a great smile saying - NAMASTEY. After the warm welcome at the door, we were seated at our table and served by the staff. The outstanding service provided by them with a smile and in a very professional manner, needs a special mention.
Everything was amazing. The food was yummy, especially their Murgh Makhani in Mains and for drinks, the Lemon sorbet was very good. Visited with a group of friends and loved the entire dinner. The jamavar team really gave us a WOW experience.
The food was delicious, the ambiance was beautiful and the service was outstanding. It was, overall, an amazing experience.
